Suzuki GSX 125 Top Speed: 100 Kmph, Mileage: 60 (KM/L), Engine: 125 cc, Brakes: Single Disc, Suzuki GSX 125 Price In BDT: 141,950.

Suzuki GSX 125 Key Features:

The Suzuki GSX 125 is one of the first Suzuki commuter bikes to receive a three-part handlebar. The clip-ons are not like the sportbikes that have short clip-ons, these clip-ons remind you of the Bajaj Pulsar series. The bike had mixed reactions from the Suzuki fanbase due to the design.

The bike however is made to look like a sports commuter bike. The bike has air-scoops at the side of the tank and muscular front design, which almost makes you believe that this was made using the DNA of a GSX-R or GSX-S. The bike comes in three colors:

  1. Red.
  2. Blue.
  3. Black.

The sporty decals are similar in all three colors.

The Suzuki GSX 125 gets a halogen headlight and taillight. The indicators are however LED. The halogen lights make sure that there will be difficult during long night rides. The taillight is bulky, which makes it very noticeable. The indicators are also bulky and old-fashioned.

The Suzuki GSX 125 gets the same instrument cluster as the Suzuki Samurai 150. The Suzuki GSX 125’s instrument cluster is fully analog, except for the gear position indicator. The instrument cluster has a speedometer, RPM counter, fuel gauge, odometer, trip meter, and a digital gear position indicator. The fully analog instrument cluster is a turn off for a Suzuki motorcycle.

Physical Attributes:

The Suzuki GSX 125 is fairly low and assistive towards shorter riders, with a seat height of 765mm. Even though it has a low saddle height, it still has a very average ground clearance of 167mm. The bike is tall and upright, which suits the commuter category. The bike also has a short wheelbase, of only 1270mm, which may bring the question of stability.

The height, width, length, and weight of the Suzuki GSX 125 are 1075mm, 755mm, 1990mm, and 126kg respectively. The bike has a generalized seating area, which expands the kind of riders who can swing a leg over this bike. The bike is also light, so flicking the over from one side to another, and to swerve comfortably on the road will be easy. The bike gets a fuel capacity of 14.2liters which is very suitable for long rides out of town.

Engine and Transmission:

The Suzuki GSX 125 has a 4-stroke OHC engine with 125cc and is air-cooled. The engine gives out 10.6BHP of power at 9000rpm and 9.2Nm of torque at 7500rpm. The torque and power figures are on par with its competitors. Since the bike is a commuter, it is expected to provide a suitable mileage, and the company claimed mileage of the bike is 50kmpl.

The Suzuki GSX 125 has a regular wet multi-plate clutch system. It has a 5-speed gearbox. Since it is a commuter bike, the power delivery is expected to be at the mid-range and the low-range. The bike has an expected top speed of around 110kmph.

Brakes, Suspensions, and Wheels:

The Suzuki GSX 125 comes with a disc-drum setup. The front is a left-mounted disc brake, the safety profile of the bike instantly increases. But since the disc is small, pushing the brake lever hard may cause the bike to skid or the front to giveaway during emergency braking at high speed. The rear being drum, it can be expected that most veteran riders will opt for the front brake as their primary brake.

The Suzuki GSX 125 comes with telescopic forks at the front. The forks are expected to have an ample amount of travel, which will give adequate support on the bumpy roads of the cities of Bangladesh. The rear has a spring-loaded oil-filled telescopic suspension. The rear suspension is two spring-loaded forks which are also expected to give enough support for the rider and pillion on bumpy roads.

The Suzuki GSX 125 comes with alloy wheels. The front and the rear have tires of 2.75/18 and 90/90 sections. Considering the bike, the rear tire is a bit small. A 100/90 section tire would do more justice to the bike. But with the present setup, the riders will just have to be a bit more careful during turning/cornering.

Target Audience:

The Suzuki GSX 125 is for the regular commuter. The person who wishes to buy a stylish commuter bike and of good quality will opt for this bike. The bike is well built and will be able to withstand the tortures of the city traffic and the bumpy roads of Bangladesh.

All in all, the Suzuki GSX 125 is a good 124cc commuter bike within the 125cc to 135cc range. The bike is expected to hold up the Suzuki name with its features and affordability. The Suzuki GSX 125 is a near-perfect 125cc commuting motorcycle.
